Moving through obstacles on and off the Yoga Mat
Ganesha (the elephant-headed deity) is known as the remover of obstacles, patron of new beginnings and the embodiment of wisdom. But Ganesha doesn’t remove obstacles by making life easy, he teaches us how to meet challenges with steadiness, humility, and trust.
On the yoga mat, obstacles can look like frustration, comparison, imbalance, ego, impatience, or the feeling that we “should” be further along. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to stay present with ourselves exactly as we are. Off the mat, those same obstacles appear in different forms:
* fear of change
* self-doubt
* difficult conversations
* burnout
* attachment to outcomes
* resistance to slowing down
Moving through obstacles on and off the Yoga Mat Ganesha reminds us that obstacles are not always barriers — sometimes they are invitations to grow differently as we move through these obstacles with more awareness and compassion.
